Ruth Newman Breaux, 88, passed away on February 19, 2026 at her home, surrounded by family in Mansfield, TX. She was born on March 10, 1937, in Abbeville, Louisiana to Leander and Mabel (Brailey) Newman.

Ruth grew up in Abbeville, Louisiana. After she completed school, she began working in the home caring for the children in the family. Ruth spent the majority of her life as a homemaker and caregiver. Ruth dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren as well as many of her nieces and nephews.

Ruth married Lloyd J. Breaux in 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were happily married until Lloyd’s untimely death. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and close friends. Ruth loved singing gospel hymns, laughing and dancing, and being outdoors enjoying life.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Breaux; her parents, Leander and Mable Newman; her siblings, Jewel Newman, Mildred Webb, Alton Newman, Frank Newman, and Elizabeth Auguste; and her treasured nephew Jack Briggs, Jr.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Sharon Lewis (Lindsay) of Mansfield, Texas; her son Glynn Newman (Sharon) of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren Courtney Lewis Franklin, Kindal Lewis, Brailey Newman, and Glynn Thomas Newman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A home going celebration will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas 76060 at 11:00am on March 14, 2026. Burial service will immediately follow. A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas 76060 on March 13, 2026, from 6-8pm.
