With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Sandy Dion on October 12, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Known affectionately by her granddaughters and great-grandchildren as Granny, Sandy was born on July 3, 1945 in Marshall, Texas to her cherished parents Leonard and Wilma Jane Williams. After graduating from Woodlawn High School, she attended cosmetology school before becoming a beautician, touching the lives of many with her warmth, talent, and care.
Sandy met the love of her life, David, in 1965 on a blind date. They married on July 8, 1967 and spent 58 loving years together. Their marriage was a true love story, full of affection, adoration, and quiet strength. They teased each other playfully, supported each other faithfully, and stood side by side through every joy and hardship. Together they were a beautiful example to their loved ones of what a steadfast, loyal partnership can be.
Sandy dedicated her life to her family, choosing to leave her career early so she could raise her children and later help care for her grandchildren. She was nurturing, dependable and sweet, yet also fiery, stubborn, and fiercely protective of those she loved. Her home and garden were her pride and joy, and brought warmth and comfort to her family. She loved spending time with her family and friends, always ready to share a laugh or a heartfelt chat. Though she faced several health challenges over the years, she met each one with remarkable strength and resilience. She was a devoted caregiver, and her steady love and presence will be deeply missed.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Wilma Jane Williams, and her sister, Linda Lamkin and husband Edward. She is survived by her beloved husband David, daughters Lisa Dion and Jill Dion, grandchildren Samantha Keenom and husband Jesse, Angela Morgan and husband Sean, and great-grandchildren Emily, David, and James Morgan.
Services for Sandy will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Kennedale, Texas on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 10:00 with interment following at 11:00.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Sandy’s honor to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (www.bcrf.org) or the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org)
