Steven Davis

January 5, 1956 — June 9, 2021

Steven Wayne Davis, 65, passed away on 9 June, 2021, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was born on January 5, 1956 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Robert Wayne Davis and Bobbie Jean (Tedder) Davis.

Steve grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Steve and his family moved to Irving, Texas in 1969, where he sang in the local church choir. He graduated from MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas in 1974. After high school he attended the University of Texas at Arlington before establishing his own construction company, Davis Gutter Company, in 1993, which he operated for 28 years.

Steve married his wife, Heidi (Yakola) Davis, in 1992 in Irving, Texas. They were happily married for 29 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, racing motocross, traveling and spending his time in nature.  Skilled with knowledge and his hands, he could construct or fix anything.  Steve touched many lives with his compassion and huge heart, and could make a friend anywhere he went.  Steve will live on through the countless stories he loved to share with anyone who would listen.

Steve is survived by his wife, Heidi; his mother, Bobbie; his sister, Dana and husband Jack Forehand; his daughter, Crystal and husband Casey Hilliard; his son, Casey and wife Jennifer Davis; his daughter, Ashleigh and husband Patrick McElroy; and his 7 grandchildren, Megan, Madison, McKenzie, Kylie, Emily, Wyatt and Hayley. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wayne Davis.

A memorial service will be held at Living Hope Bible Church, 1011 North St., Mansfield, Texas, on Wednesday, June 23rd, at 10:30am. The family will be hosting a reception for friends and relatives immediately following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at https://themmrf.org/get-involved/ways-to-donate/.

He never looked for praises

He was never one to boast

He just went on quietly working

For the ones he loved the most.

His dreams were seldom spoken

His wants were very few

And most of the time his worries

Went unspoken too.

He was there… A firm foundation

Through all of our storms of life

A sturdy hand to hold on to

In times of stress and strife.

A true friend we could turn to

When times were good or bad

One of our greatest blessings

The man that we called Dad.
