Mr Thomas Haddix

ARLINGTON -- Arlington - Thomas M. Haddix, 62, of Arlington went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 18,2008. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Emerald Hills Funeral Memorial Chapel. Bural: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Donations may be made in honor of Thomas Haddix to Grace Community Church, 801 W Bardin Road, Arlington, Texas 76017(817.860.7116).Thomas was born March 7, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Thomas L. and Katherine Morris Haddix. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the Army in 1985 after more than 20 years of service. He met his wife, Shirley, during this time in Washington, D. C. and they married in 1975. They were married 29 years before she was taken to be with the Lord. They had one daughter, Katherine. After moving around most of his adult life, Thomas and his wife finally settled in Arlington 15 years ago. His passion was traveling and he was always known by others to be friendly and helpful. You never knew what exciting adventure he was recently involved with and he always had great stories to share. He also loved history, reading, and puzzles of many kinds. Thomas will be deeply missed until that day we all reunite in Heaven with the Lord. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Haddix, and his parents, Thomas and Katherine Haddix. Survivors: His daughter, Katherine; his brother, John; his sisters, Una, Virginia and Rita; and many other family members and friends.
