Tommie Sue Wilson Lacy passed away on September 14, 2026, at Heritage Place in Burleson, Texas. Tommie Sue was born on May 10, 1943, in Memphis, Texas, to Tom and Bess Wilson.

Tommie Sue grew up in Quail, Texas. She graduated from Quail High School in Quail, Texas, in 1961.

After high school, Tommie Sue attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. She began working for the Wellington Independent School District as a substitute teacher, where she worked for a number of years. She later moved with her family to Arlington, Texas, where she worked at Sears for 17 years before retiring.

Tommie Sue married Denzil Lacy in 1962 in Hedley, Texas. They were happily married for 53 years. Tommie Sue was a member of First Baptist Church of Wellington and Tate Springs Baptist Church of Arlington, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, participating in various solo opportunities, and singing with the Good Time Singers of Wellington.

Tommie Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Lacy; her parents, Tom and Bess Wilson; and her sisters, Marge Barnes of Lubbock and Barbara Coleman of Wellington.

Tommie Sue is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Bransford and her husband, John, of Shreveport, Louisiana; her son, Drury Dan Lacy, and his wife, Karen, of Itasca, Texas; her daughter, Dena Suzanne Sessums, and her husband, Chris, of Burleson, Texas; and her daughter, Angela Beth Hinson, and her husband, Jason, of Alvarado, Texas.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Sarah, Braden, Caleb, Logan, Megan, Morgan, and Ashton; and her great-grandchildren: Jackson, Braydon, Walker, Cameron, and Ari.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of the wonderful caregivers who have cared for their mom over the last 10 years. They would also like to give a special thank-you to St. Gabriel's Hospice for the outstanding care they provided for their precious mother.
