Wendie Irene Curry, a beloved daughter, mother, YaYa, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on March 22nd, 2024 at her home in Rendon, Texas. She was born on August 20th, 1969 in Fort Worth, Texas to Woodie Joe and Mary Miller Curry. 

Wendie grew up in Rendon, Texas. She graduated from Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Texas in 1987. During her senior year she won first place in the state of Texas for dental assisting. After high school she began working for Mansfield Family Dentistry as a Dental Assistant where she worked for  more than 20 years. For the last year she dedicated her time, energy and love to helping her mother take care of her father in his final days. She was a member at Sublett Road Baptist Church for many years where she frequently taught Sunday School. 

Wendie married Derek Brown in 1991 in Fort Worth, Texas. They were married for 27  years. She enjoyed gardening, antique shopping, and spending time with her family. 


Wendie was preceded in death by her father, Woodie Joe Curry; and her brother, W. Jason Curry. 


Wendie is survived by her mother, Mary Irene Curry of Rendon, Texas; her ex-husband, Derek Brown of Arlington,Texas; her children, James Tadinger Brown of Arlington, Texas and Baylie and Taran Kilian of Tucson, Arizona; her brothers, Jimmy and Tracy Curry of Sherman, Texas, Mark Sr. and Lisa Curry of Weatherford, Texas, and Rusty Moon of Victoria, Texas; her grandson, Dawson Kilian of Tucson, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews. 


Wendie’s kind soul touched many lives throughout the years. Her generousness and warmth drew people towards her effortlessly. Her presence will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
