PILOT POINT -- William Joseph Greener, 57, of Pilot Point peacefully passed away on July 2, 2008.Funeral: 10 am Tuesday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6-8pm Monday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. He was a loving father, son, and brother and was the first of seven children born to Walter and Lucille Greener on August 12, 1950 in Rosebud Texas. Raised in Fort Worth from the age of six, he graduated from Trimble Technical High School in 1968 and attended Grayson County Jr. College on a baseball scholarship. He excelled in baseball winning trophies for the city's most valuable player and homerun king. He also served in the National Guard for nine years. Bill married Diana Fulford August 18, 1973, had 2 children, and then later divorced in 1988. He worked for Camping World in Denton for many years. Bill, an avid golfer, spent most weekends with buddies playing golf.
He was preceded in death: by his mother, Lucille Greener, on June 6, 2008 and his brother, Don Greener, on October 5, 2001.
Survivors: Son, Daniel Greener, daughter, Rachel Bailey, husband Corey, grandchildren, Nathan & Kirsten; father, Walter Greener, sisters, Kathryn Wathen, Jean Greener, brothers, Gerald, Randy, & Vernon Greener, their spouses, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
