William Raymond Massey “Bill” passed away on January 1, 2022, at the James L. West Hospice Center in Fort Worth, TX. Bill was born on May 31, 1945, in Fort Worth, TX to Raymond Massey and Geraldine Ratliff Massey.
Bill grew up in Kennedale, Tx where he graduated from Kennedale High School in May 1963 and attended Fort Worth Christian College. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed in Okinawa for two years. He worked for GD and LTV and later for Cooper Transportation as a rail unloader retiring after 32 years.
Bill married Oralia “Lala” Barrera in February 1977 and they were happily married for 44 years. Bill was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Bill most enjoyed wood working and gardening. For many years, he had a large, beautiful vegetable garden. In his youth, Bill enjoyed horseback riding and sports both as a participant and as a spectator, especially watching every sport on television. He had a love for classic cars but more particular a 1955 Chevrolet.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved daughters Susan Kaye and Stephanie Rae Massey. Also, by his parents Raymond and Geraldine Massey.
He his survived by his wife, Lala Massey; siblings, Richard Massey and his wife Cathy, Melissa Ward and husband Billy, Melinda Norman and husband Tim, Renda Saterlee, many nephews, nieces and many other relatives, family, and friends.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors and the nurses at James L. West Hospice Center and the Klarus Home Health personnel.
The service will be officiated by his brother Richard Massey and the pallbearers for the service will be Joshua Massey, Luke Norman, Billy Ward, Rafael Barrera, Leonard Arias and Derek Mills.
