Abner Merrit Wise, Jr., 78, passed away on September 23rd 2020 at Resilience Residential Care in Arlington, Tx. He was born on November 24th, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Abner Merrit Wise Sr., and June Sellers Wise. Abner grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas and after high school, he joined the army in 1958 and later joined the air force reserves for a total of 15 and a half years of service. He then started his career with Vought Aircraft as a machinist and retired back in 2010. Abner married Charolette Lower in 1969; they were happily married for 43 years until her passing in April of 2012. Abner enjoyed fishing, watching the Dallas Cowboys, the western channel, spending time with his family, but most of all, he loved being with his great grandchildren and his dog Choddie.

Abner was proceeded in death by his parents Abner and June, also by 1 sister Julie.

He is survived by his 3 children, Susan Martin (James) of Arlington, Tx., Sandy Barnett of Pocahontas, Ark., and Charles Lower (Melinda) Henning, Tenn. Siblings, Teddy Wise of Venus, TX and Charles Wise (Joyce) of Arlington, Tx. Also survived by granddaughter Cassie Reese & 4 great grandchildren Destiny, Gracie, Cooper, and Jaxon with Ricky Reese of Arlington, Tx., grandson Cody Martin (Lucy) & great grandson Colton of Arlington, Tx., grandson Matthew Barnett (Chelsea) of Pocahontas, Ark., & great grandson Brentley, grandson Charles Lower of Henning, Tenn., and granddaughter Heather Coulston (Kevin) & great grandsons Lealand & Joshua of Covington, Tenn.

Visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Cemetery in Kennedale, Texas on Sunday, September 27th, 2020 from 3pm-5pm with the memorial service being held Monday September 28th at 11am followed by burial at Emerald Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to DementiaSociety.org in honor of Abner.
