Addie M. Holt, 90, passed away on December 31, 2020 at Vitas Hospice in Carrollton, Texas. She was born at home on March 25, 1930 in Fort Worth, Texas to Joseph William Livesay and Addie Sophronia White Livesay.

Addie grew up in Fort Worth, Texas.  She graduated from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth, Texas in 1948, where she was concert master of the orchestra.  After high school Addie attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas where she majored in music.  Addie was also a violinist for the Fort Worth Community Orchestra.  She attended Tarrant County College, receiving Completion Certificates for her courses.

Addie married Bill Holt December 2, 1950 in Fort Worth, Texas. They were happily married for 54 years. Addie & Bill met on the school shuttle bus.  Their first date was a double date to the sweetheart dinner at Church.  Addie was a member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Addie was preceded in death by her husband Bill J. Holt in 2005, her parents Addie S. White Livesay and Joseph W. Livesay and her four siblings Alice J. Livesay Riddle, John W. Livesay, Carl Ray Livesay and Clyde W. Livesay.

Addie is survived by her two daughters, Adria G. Holt Hoffman (Allen, Texas) and Karen L. Holt Mitchell (Fort Worth, Texas); her two granddaughters, Michelle D. Browning Varnum and Patricia N. Hoffman Mullis; and her seven great-grandchildren Jonathan, Jaimie, Brooke and Christian Varnum and Emma, Owen and Hudson Mullis; as well as numerous extended family members.

A graveside memorial service will be held for the family at Emerald Hills Memorial Park, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, TX 76060 on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 3:00PM with interment to follow. Masks are required by all attendees.  A remembrance reunion will be planned later this year to celebrate Addie’s life.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Comfort Keepers, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital – Allen and Vitas Hospice for their care for Addie.  Addie spent her life shining the Lord’s light wherever she went, and her favorite Bible verse was Psalms 23.
