Betty Joe Dickerson, 85, passed away on 5th day of January, 2021, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born on September 27, 1935 in Watertown, South Dakota to Joseph and Freda (Porter) Barthen.
Betty grew up in Watertown, South Dakota. She began working at Ampex as a Line Lead in 1975 and retired after 20 years of work.
Betty married Charley Tidwell in 1953. They were happily married for 5 years and had one daughter, Evelyn Congrove before he passed away. She then married Lloyd Dickerson in 1969. She enjoyed needle point crafts, canvas crafts, and collecting dolls and other various items.
Betty is preceded in death by her spouses, Charley and Lloyd, her parents, Joseph and Freda, and her siblings, Edward, John, and Enid.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Congrove; her siblings, Carol, Bruce, and Larry; her grandchildren, Georgianna, Charles, Tiffany, and Lisa; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Dakota, Cody, Justin, Lane, Triston, Devon, Courtnie, Khloe, Jaidon, Peyton, Mason, and Henley; and her great-great grandchildren, Blake, Samuel, Asher, Dale, and Lillian.
A Celebration of her life will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home Cemetery 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, TX 76060 on January 16, 2021, at 11:00am. A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home on January 16, 2021, at 10:00am. The family will be greeting friends and relatives on January 16, 2021, at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park Cemetery on January 16, 2021, at 12:00pm.
