Bobbie Greenfield

January 2, 1935 — May 5, 2022

Kennedale

Bobbie Jean Spears Greenfield, 87, passed away peacefully in her home on May 5th, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Bobbie was born on January 2, 1935 in Crowell, Texas to Cleo and Lorene Spears. She met the love of her life, Bill Greenfield, in Vernon Texas. The two were married in Ft. Worth, Texas on March 24, 1953, and shared 65 beautiful and loving years together.

Bobbie was a homemaker in every sense of the word. The Greenfield home was always welcoming and inclusive, and full of jokes and laughter. Over the years, Bobbie filled the role of wife, Mom, friend, Granny, Nana, and Great Granny, and Great Nana. Bobbie’s love and commitment to her family and friends were evident through her involvement in their lives and their interests.  She and Bill never missed a school activity or game that their children or grandchildren participated in.

Bobbie enjoyed several hobbies including quilting, crafting, painting, bowling, cooking, reading, playing cards, and hosting parties and gatherings. She and Bill took numerous road trips and vacations with family and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kennedale, Texas where she enjoyed years of fellowship.

Bobbie and Bill spent many cherished years at their lake cabin on Possum Kingdom Lake. This special retreat, named “Dime Oaks,” was built and shared with several lifelong friends.  Twenty-seven years of memories were created here, including nights spent playing cards and washers, trips on the boat, and watching grandchildren play in the water.

Bobbie’s greatest legacy is the loving and joyful family that she and Bill created. Although she is gone, traits of Bobbie will remain in the members of her large but tight-knit family. Whether it’s her infectious laughter, her artistic talent, her warm and friendly smile, or her commitment to family, Bobbie will live on in those she leaves behind.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Pam Chromemaster; and a great-grandson, Henry Greenfield-Dunn.

She is survived by her son, Danny and his wife Kara Lynn; her son, Kerry and his wife Lisa; her daughter, Tammy Shaw and her husband Gary; her son, Glenn and his wife Amy; her sister, Wanza; her brother, Charles and his wife Linda; her brother-in-law, Sam and his wife Barbara; grandchildren, Jason, Joni, Kelsey, Dakota, Cobin, Alyssa, and Clinton; and great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Aly, Tyler, Abbey, Emma, Theo, and Ellie.
