Carol Lynn Anagnostopoulos (Agnos), 79, passed away on August 1, 2020 at Medical City Arlington in Arlington, Texas. She was born on June 18, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Clarence and Ruth (Throckmorton) Ditzler.
Carol grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Fenger High School in Roseland, Illinois in 1959. After high school she:
began work for R.R. Donnelley & Sons as a secretary where she worked for 5 years. From 1990-2001 she and her husband co-owned and operated Sir Speedy Printing in Arlington, Texas.
was involved in Rush Creek Christian Church, Meals on Wheels, and WOW (Watercolor on Wednesdays).
Carol married Conrad in 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. They were happily married for 60 years. Carol was a member of Rush Creek Christian Church. She enjoyed oil and watercolor painting, sewing, card making, sailing and spending time at their lakehouse in Bass Lake, Indiana, searching for Big Foot, bird watching, gardening and her many trips in the convertible with her beloved husband, Conrad. She created a certified butterfly garden in her backyard and had one of her oil paintings selected and displayed at a prominent state art museum.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruth Ditzler, her sister, Sue Meyer, her brother, Richard Ditzler, her grandchildren, Stephen and Christopher Wagner, and the many dogs she had throughout her life, including Angel.
Carol is survived by her spouse Conrad of Arlington, Texas; her daughter Cathy (Arthur) Wagner of Woodridge, Illinois, and Susan (Dan) Collins of Batavia, Illinois; her grandchildren Andrew (Haley) Wagner, Kelly (Chris) Reinhart, Sarah Wagner, John Paul, Joshua and Jaden Collins; and her nieces and nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Little City 1610 Colonial Parkway, Inverness, Illinois 60067, or www.littlecity.org/giving/ where her autistic grandson, JP Collins, lives.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Amin, Dr. Norris and Dr. Jaredot, and the nurses at Medical City Arlington and Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital.
Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.
