Choralen Lasalle

June 13, 1953 — September 8, 2022

Nocona

Choralen Neena Wise LaSalle, 69, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2022 at United Regional Hospital in Wichita,Texas with her family by her side. She was born on June 13,1953 in Fort Worth, Texas to Wilbert E. Wise and Georgia Margueritte “Peggy” Stowe Wise. Choralen was the youngest of three sisters and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended Kennedale High School in Kennedale, Texas.

Choralen married Jerry Glenn LaSalle in 1984 in Ft. Worth, Texas, joining their two families together.  They were happily married for 38 years and lovingly raised four children, 3 daughters and 1 son.

In her younger years, she was very active in Camp Fire Girls of America, becoming a Bluebird leader and mentor to many young girls over the years. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping at her favorite: Camp El Tesoro in Glen Rose, TX.

Whether it was hymns, contemporary songs, or silly songs around the campfire, Choralen loved to sing. She also loved to listen to all types of music, but especially classical music. She would often tell the story of how her name was derived from Beethoven’s 9th Symphony “Choral” and it was her favorite.

Breaking traditional roles, Choralen became a truck driver. She and her husband Jerry drove as a team for JB Hunt Transportation for many years, getting to see many places together. Enjoying the country life, they chose to retire to Nocona, TX.

Choralen was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Bowie, TX and enjoyed attending bible study. She would commonly be found visiting people in the nursing home, hospital, or those unable to leave home to share her love for the Lord. From bringing groceries to those in need, to just being a listening ear or singing a silly song, she was always looking for a way to help brighten someone’s day.

Choralen was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Peggy Wise.

Choralen is survived by her spouse, Jerry of Nocona, Texas; her daughters, Carol Ann (Jeff) King of Bedford, Texas and Laura Kay Waller of Worchester, Massachusetts; her stepson, Jason Glenn (Meys) Murray of Missoula, Montana; stepdaughter, Audrea Diane Dyer of Haltom City, Texas; her sisters, Karen (Mark) Branzell of Arlington, Texas and Michelle Sorcic of Weatherford, Texas; her grandchildren, Sara King, Hanna King, John Daigle, Kaylin Dyer, and Shasya Murray; her nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.

A funeral service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale, Texas at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 17, 2022.  A visitation will be held in the chapel at Emerald Hills Funeral Home at 10:00, Saturday, Sept 17.
