Eugene Nimely Johnson, 31, died sadly, on Tuesday 28, April 2020 in Arlington, Texas. He was born on October 4, 1988 in Trenton, New Jersey to Mr. Philip Johnson and Ms. Esther Deemi.

EJ, as he was fondly known, grew up in the DFW Metropolitan area. He graduated from Central High School in Keller, Texas in 2008. After high school, he attended the Art Institute in Dallas, Texas where he studied fashion and graphic design. He worked for Oaklawn Apartment Limited in the maintenance department for several years and there, EJ proved to be a diligent and hardworking employee. EJ was also member of Church of Christ in North Richland Hills, Texas where he attended regularly.

In addition to his full-time job, EJ ran his own online clothing store where he designed customized clothing, sneakers, hats etc. During his spare time, EJ enjoyed rapping, singing and produced several musical tracks of his own.

EJ is survived by his mother, Ms. Esther Deemi, grandmothers, Ms. Yawah Deemi of Philadelphia and Mrs. Facia Deemi of Liberia a host of uncles and aunts  both local and abroad namely; Leon Deemi, Samuel Deemi, Bobby Sandi, Boimah Weedor, Doris Bond, Irna Williams, Betty Fields, Mary Golokeh, Wanie Weedor, Bishop Jennifer Teuchert;  his cousins, Fifi Bond, Maurice Sayeh, Jennifer George, Yhenpu and BJ Weador, Lucretia Williams (Darling Girl), and a host of other family members in the Texas area, Trenton, NJ, Philadelphia, PA and Liberia, West Africa.

Funeral service and visitation will be held at the Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale, Texas 76060 on Thursday May 14, 2020, and May 15, 2020. The family will be greeting friends and relatives during that time. Burial will follow immediately after at the Emerald Hills Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to St Stephens Episcopal Church, Hurst, Texas, Emerald Hills Funeral Home, The Daughters of Holy Cross, Reverend Yhenpu L. Boayue Senior Pastor of House of Prayer Tabernacle Intl. Church Bedford, Texas, family and friends.

As Jesus comforted his Disciples, Jesus still comforts us even today. “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” KJV- John 14 (1-3)
