Obituary

Jack Walter Liford ,age 78, passed away on the 16th of March, 2021 at his home, in Arlington TX He was born on July 24, 1943, in Beech Grove, Indiana to Marvin and Doris Liford.

Jack grew up in Spencer and Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis in 1961. After high school he attended the Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN where he received a diploma in Theology. He pioneered churches in Grand Isle, LA and Redlands, CA and pastored churches in Larose and Harrisonburg, LA, Russellville AR and Lacrosse, WI.  Jack maintained certifications/licenses as a residential and commercial inspector in building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.  He worked in Code Enforcement, Building Inspections, Plan Review, and as Building Official and was involved in the United Pentecostal Church and the Apostolic World Fellowship.  He married Naomi Fontenot in 1964 in Westlake, LA. They were happily married for 57 years. Jack enjoyed guitar playing, fishing and hunting, ping pong and Bible Studies

Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Joseph and John Marvin, by his father, Ralph Marvin and his mother, Doris Pauline.

Jack is survived by his spouse, Naomi of Arlington, TX; daughters, Melissa Sherea of Hammond, LA and Sherry Renee (Greg Cox) of Carrier, MS; son, Jack Chadney, of Roanoke, TX; grandchildren, Derek, Kristina (deceased), Shane, Aaron and Johnathan; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Jasper, Avaleigh, Emery and Nicole.

Visitation: at Dallas First Church 5606 W. Illinois Ave, Dallas, TX 75211 at 9:00AM on Saturday, March 20, 2021.  A celebration service will be held at Dallas First Church 5606 W. Illinois Ave., Dallas, TX 75211at 10:00AM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 with interment to follow at Emerald Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Dallas First Church Missions.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dallas First Church for support in prayers, phone calls, text messages, home visits and food for the past several months.

Grief never ends-but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is the PRICE OF LOVE.
