Jalen Christopher Wade, 21, passed away on December 28, 2020 at Medical City Arlington
Hospital. He was born on August 18, 1999 to Sedric and Pamela (Wallace) Wade in Arlington,Texas
where he grew up.
Jalen was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where he was baptized in 2006. He graduated
from Mansfield Summit High School in 2017. He played trombone for the Summit Marching Band
and made many lasting friendships. Jalen was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business
Management at the University of Texas at Arlington. He was on the Honor Roll in Spring 2020. He
was a member of fraternity BETA THETA PI-Men of Principle.
While a student he began working for Papa John’s as a Team Member. Then, he moved on to On
the Border as a Server. He was a dependable, hard-working young man that was well respected
amongst his managers and co-workers.
Jalen loved cheering on his favorite football and basketball teams, the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas
Mavericks. He also had a great love for anime and cosplay. He enjoyed collecting shoes, listening to
music, and watching movies and shows with his family. Jalen was also passionate about playing
games of all types - video, PC, card and tabletop.
Above all he loved being with family and friends. He lived life to the fullest and always had a smile on
his face. Jalen was supportive and uplifting to others. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved and
wanted to make them laugh.
Jalen was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Frank Griffin, uncle Terrence Wade and
cousin Demitria Smith.
Those left to cherish his memories are his parents Sedric and Pamela Wade of Arlington, TX; his
sister Jaquala Wade of Fort Worth TX; his brother Jaquan Wade (Morgan) of Dallas, TX. He also left
behind his maternal grandmother, Shirley Griffin of Clarksville, TN, paternal grandparents, Winfred
Wade (Caroline) of Dallas, TX and LaWinnifred Wade of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by a host of
aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church 5415 Matlock Road, Arlington, TX
76018 at 11 a.m. January 2, 2021. A visitation will be held at the church at 10 a.m., January 2, 2021.
Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, TX 76060.
