James Donald Wilkie, 82, passed away on the 12th of, June 2022 at Isles of Watercrest Memory Care in Mansfield Texas. He was born on September 19, 1939, in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Jimmie Harold and Joy Elizabeth Qualls Wilkie.

James Donald grew up in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He Attended high school in Oklahoma. After high school he:

joined the U.S. NAVY in 1958 and server for 4 years. He was honorably discharged in 1962
he began work for General Motors in 1963 as a Materials Handler and assembly line worker where he worked for 28 years retiring in 1991.
He was an honest hard-working man, who took great care of his family. He loved working on automobiles, buying/selling and trading.
He loved camping with his family, took trips to Colorado. But most, enjoyed visiting family in Oklahoma.

James Donald married Patricia Ann Conn in 1960 in Lynwood California. They were married for 62 years and raised two wonderful daughters Dawn Archell and Lori Ann. James Donald enjoyed finding a good deal, he was a smart businessman who loved to find thrifty ways to make an honest dollar. Another man’s trash was his treasure as he was handy and could fix up almost anything.

James Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Joy Wilkie; and brother, David Lee Wilkie.

James Donald is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann of Compton, California; his daughters, Dawn Archell and her husband Jimmie (Ellison) of Burleson TX and Lori Ann and her husband Dennis (Miles) of Mansfield TX; 4 grandchildren, Scott Maki and wife Christina, Kevin Maki and wife Arian, Kerri Guzman, and husband A.J. and Lance Miles and wife Donna; 7 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Aubree, Jace, Isabel, Milo, Freya, and Allison; sisters, Nancy Brandon and husband Jimmy of Fort Townson, OK and Joyce Ann Dickerson and late husband Alvin of Hugo, OK; brother, Gary Wilkie and wife Diane of Grove, OK; and many nieces and nephews.

A grave side service will be held with military honors at Emerald Hills Memorial Park, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale TX 76060 on June 17, 2022, at 10:00am with Clergy/Chaplain Jeremy Gengler as the officiant.

Poem from his daughters: He never looked for praises, He was never one to boast. He just went on quietly working, for the ones he loved the most. His dreams were seldom spoken, his wants were very few. And most of the time his worries also went unspoken too. He was there……A firm foundation, through all our storms of life. A sturdy hand to hold on to, in times of stress and strife. A true friend we could turn to, when times were good or bad. One of our greatest blessings. The man that we called Dad.
