Jorge Gonzalez Alvarado

May 17, 1968 — September 7, 2021

Houston

Jorge (G.O.) Gonzalez, 53, passed away on September 7, 2021 at Medical City Dallas while embraced by his wife Teresa, and sons Samuel and Misael. He was born on May 17, 1968 in Mexico City to Francisco Pino Gonzalez Perez and Maria Teresa Alvarado y Zenteno (widow of Gonzalez)

G.O. grew up in Mexico City. At age 5, his father Francisco passed away from PKD, which was devastating to G.O., his mom Teresa and sister Alejandra. They faced many challenges after losing their head of household. It was this main challenge that taught G.O. to fully rely on the Lord for every endeavor, and to never be fearful of men but rather have the fear of the Lord.

He was a student at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico) where he received a B.S. in Systems Engineering. He married Teresa on 4th of July in 1987. They were happily married for 34 years. They had sons Samuel (1988) and Misael (1992). While in Mexico he worked as a mainframe engineer for BBVA bank, Banorte bank, and Nissan Motors corporate. His job was to ensure the integrity of transactions and processes. Seeking to provide his sons with better education opportunities, G.O. sought the Lord about moving his family to the U.S. To this end, him and his wife ended successful careers and moved to the States. In 2002 they arrived to the City of Arlington where he began his pursuit of the American dream by learning various trades including the flower business, the coffee business, and truck driving. The pinnacle of his American dream was to obtain his U.S. citizenship, which was slated to occur later this year.

G.O. was very proud of his sons, their education at Texas A&M, and what they have accomplished in their respective careers. A big pride and joy for him were also his grandsons Theodore (TorG) and Oliver (OliG) who inherited G.O.s inquisitive nature and very logical thinking. In 2017 G.O. and his wife relocated to Houston, Tx to be close to his grandsons.

G.O. is survived by his wife Teresa, sons Samuel (Leslie) and Misael; grandsons Theodore and Oliver; mother Teresa and sister Alejandra from Mexico City.

Plants and flowers are welcome, as are donations to Polycystic Kidney Disease foundation. Condolences may be left on G.O.’s online guest book at www.emeraldhillsfuneralhome.com/obituary/Jorge-GonzalezAlvarado
