Julia Juanita Briscoe, 86, passed away on Saturday, 23rd, April, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on October 13, 1935 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Garl Adamson and Bertha Viola Burnett, Baxter.

Juanita grew up in Cement, Oklahoma. She graduated from Chickasha High School in Chickasha, Oklahoma in 1953. After high school she began work for McClellan’s as a Candy Clerk where she worked for 2 years. She was involved in charity work at her Church at 16th and Florida Church of Christ

Juanita married Willie Tommy Briscoe in 1954 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They were happily married for 53 years. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, reading and writing poetry.

Juanita was preceded in death by her father, Garl Adamson Baxter; mother, Bertha Viola Baxter; sisters, Barbara Melvina Amstutz, and Carol Dean Barnes; step-brothers, Leroy, Alwyn, and Plumer (Jr.)

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Neva Sharlene Briscoe of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Judith Gaylene Butler of Everman, Texas; her sister Gladys Violet Demcheshen of North Richland Hills, Texas; her half-sister Sherry Gail Cooper of Chickasha, Oklahoma; her step-sisters, Nadine Nipp, and Geraldine Nipp of Dallas, Texas;  her Grandson, William Earl Florence and spouse Beth Ann Florence; and her great-grandchildren, Layla Marie, Madisyn LeAnne, Wesley Cage, Bentley Blake, and Beckley Blaze.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Resilience Residential Care, Community Hospice of Texas with Texas Health Resources, Dr. Frank P Jircik, New Hope Fellowship of Fort Worth Texas, Laurel Land Memorial Park, and Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
