Kathleen Turner

July 13, 1942 — December 16, 2021

Saginaw

Kathleen Turner, 79, was laid to eternal rest on Thursday evening, December 16, 2021, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. On July 13, 1942, Kathleen was born in Malvern, Arkansas, the second child of nine to her proud parents Richard and Carrie Bailey.

In Hot Springs County, Arkansas, she grew up and graduated from Wilson High School in Malvern.

After relocating to California, Kathleen pursued higher education and worked as a licensed and certified nurse’s aide. As a result, she enjoyed a fulfilling career in the medical field for over 20 years. In addition, her passion for serving the community expanded as a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Los Angeles Chapter.

While establishing her roots, she found faith and religion. Her devotional journey began under the leadership of Pastor A.M. Turner at the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ (Los Angeles), where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Next, she was baptized, and from that moment on, she allowed the Holy Ghost to guide her steps.

Soon after, at twenty-three years old, she was blessed to meet Freddie. In January 1966, Kathleen married Freddie Turner in Los Angeles, California, and became a loving and devoted wife.

California provided the opportunity for Kathleen to build her legacy. However, as a union, the Turners felt called to relocate with their ministry on their hearts. So in 1989, Kathleen moved first to Arlington, Texas, and later to Fort Worth and became a missionary in the “Church of God of Prophecy.” First, she studied Theology to enhance her Bible knowledge and prepare her to become the First Lady of her own congregation. Then, with her husband as Senior Pastor, she started a church in Palestine, Texas. She worked with the community and brought people to Jesus Christ.

She enjoyed encouraging others, reading her bible, listening to spiritual televangelist programs, and doing crossword puzzles in her spare time.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Carrie Bailey; her siblings - John Edward Bailey, Ricky Lee Bailey, Robert Bailey, Richard Gene Bailey, Evelyn Brooks; and her daughter Pamela Jean Taylor.
