Lois Wheeler

February 13, 1932 — February 27, 2020

Mansfield

Lois Ann Tull Wheeler, of Fort Worth, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020.  She was born on February 13, 1932 in Riesel, Texas to Hubert A. Tull and Mildred (Cammack) Tull.  Lois retired from Bell Helicopter after 20 years of service with the official title given to her as “Sergeant-Major”.  Her co-workers fondly remember her as being fantastic at giving and delegating orders but falling short at receiving them.  Lois loved serving her community in many facets, including volunteering for Mission Printing of Arlington through her local congregation, Rendon Church of Christ, and supporting various mission works including Christ’s Haven for Children.  She also maintained close relationships with her Arlington High School graduating class of 1949 well into this century.  Lois lived by the motto “dessert or fun food first” and enjoyed spending her time taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and knew the Final Jeopardy answer on virtually every episode.  #watchoutkenjennings.  She also lamented the absence of Jay Leno on nighttime tv and said, “Nothing was worth watching after that!”  Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother never smoked, cursed or drank a day in her life but she could win a Girl Scout cookie eating contest hands down.  While some people prefer to quote Shakespeare, Lois preferred to quote the many precious sayings of her grands and great-grands such as “dats a big ol twuck”, “I’m gunna tell my daddy your mean to me”, and “now den”.

This precious soul is preceded in death by her parents and her three sisters Aline, Pat and Helen.  Her husband B.J. Wheeler, her son Joe Wheeler, and her daughter Cherry Wheeler Geeo, her son-in-law Don Geeo, and grandson Billy Joe Geeo.

Those left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Deborah Wheeler Morales of Mansfield, Texas.  Grandchildren Robert Geeo (Tiffany), Donald Geeo (Jennifer), Julie Johnson (Robert), Charissa Rangel (Miguel), Shaunna Battles (Timothy), Christi Greer (Ryan) and Wendy Jeter (Gabriel).  She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and her great-great grandson, Colby.

Funeral service for Lois will be Monday, March 2, 2020 at 10:00AM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale with interment to follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park.  The family will receive family and friends for visitation Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 6:00-8:00PM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
