Louis was born February 1, 1932 to the late Lewis and Mary Lou Martin Sr. Louis received Christ as his Lord and Savior as a youth.  In 1946, at 14 yrs. Old, Louis achieved becoming the first black Eagle Scout in Lexington, Kentucky. Louis received his formal education in Lexington Independent School District and was graduate of the Dunbar High School Class of 1950.
Louis joined the United States Air Force in 1951. He work his way up the ranks as a computer operator. After 20 yrs. of service he retired in 1971 as a TSgt. Louis then went on to work with the Federal Government as computer specialist and later a supervisor  were he also retired after 20 yrs.
On November 5, 2018, Louis answered his Master’s call. He leaves cherished and precious memories. Louis was preceded in death by his sister Hattie M. Leath, his brother Harry B. Martin, and his daughter Deborah Guyton. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 yrs. Evelyn Martin, his daughters Pamela Byrd, Kimberly Potter, his sons Fredric (Lolita) Martin, Kenneth (Delores) Martin, Jonathan Martin and Edouard Martin. His grandchildren Tamara, Bobby, Kenneth Jr., Corwon,  Jovani, Latoya , Jonathan II, Alontae, Valerie, Mantle and Mathew. And great grandchildren Katina, Jadin, Laniece, Armani, Corwon Jr.,Valerie, Elijah, Dynmond, Chasia, Devin, Zeda, Jalyn, and Jayden his sisters Carolyn Martin, Alberta (Dale Woodson) and sister-n-law Marquarite Martin. Louis also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
