Michael Maeske

Michael John Maeske, of Kennedale, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020. He was born on March 12, 1973 in Rochester, New York to William Irving Maeske and Carolyn Lee.

Michael attended Kennedale High School where he was enrolled in honors classes and lettered in track and field, basketball and football. A true connoisseur of pop-culture, Michael was a walking encyclopedia able to spout off factoids and trivia about any number of topics. An avid sports fan, Michael enjoyed keeping up to date with Sports Center, as well as supporting his beloved Dallas Mavericks and Oakland Raiders. A voracious reader, Michael loved a good story, especially if that story came in the form of a comic book. Marvel Comics was his preferred publication. He was also a very talented artist. Other loves included having a raucous good time with friends and family, consuming as many movies and television shows as he could muster, and frequenting comic book shops with his son.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, William Irving Maeske.

Those left to cherish his memories are his son, Ryan Lawson-Maeske; mother, Carolyn Miller, step-father David Miller; brothers, Keith Maeske, David Miller, and Brian Miller; sisters-in-law Monica Maeske and Nancy Miller; nephews Jakob and Nathan Maeske; niece, Victoria Miller. His extended family includes many aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins and lifelong friends who loved him dearly.

A memorial service for Michael will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 1PM to 2:30PM at the Emerald Hills Funeral Home located at 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, TX 76060. Casual dress is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to either Mental Health America or the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.

A private interment will be scheduled for a later date.
