Rose Rogers

Rose Marie Rogers, 90, passed away on July 31, 2021, at her home in Mansfield, Texas. She was born on January 23, 1931, in Dougherty, Texas to John and Myrtle (Eanes) Emert.

Rose Marie graduated from Lorenzo High School in Lorenzo, Texas in 1948.

Rose Marie married Ralph Rogers in 1949 in Lubbock, Texas. They were happily married for over seventy-two years. Rose Marie was a member of the New York Avenue Church of Christ. She enjoyed making quilts and scrapbooks for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle Emert, brother David Emert, and daughter Cathe Rehl.

Rose Marie is survived by her husband, Ralph, of Mansfield, Texas; her children, Pam (Phil), Debbie (Tom), and Jimmy (Jan); her grandchildren Jill, Angie, Shannon, Lauren, Justin, Andrew, Amber, Christin, and Kristina; nineteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and numerous dear friends. She was known by all in her family as “Grandmama” and fiercely loved and cared for her family and loved ones. Her life was dedicated to her family, her church, and her Lord.

A celebration of life will be held at the New York Avenue Church of Christ, 5371 New York Avenue, Arlington, Texas, 76018 at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 5. A visitation will precede the service at 1:00 PM at the New York Avenue Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
