Wayne Rhodes, of Flower Mound, TX, 66, passed away on December 1, 2020, at Texas Health Presbyterian in Flower Mound, Texas. He was born on October 14, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas to Alfred and Edna Rhodes.

Wayne grew up in Arlington, TX. He graduated from Mansfield High School in Mansfield, TX in 1972. After high school he:

Attended Cedar Valley Police Academy in Lancaster, TX where he received his Basic Peace Officer Certification.
Graduated from the Constable Leadership College Program.

Worked for Denton County for 25 years, beginning with the Sheriff’s Office in 1995, transitioning to the Constable’s Office in 1998, ultimately achieving the rank of Chief Deputy Constable. He was the longest serving Chief Deputy in Denton County history.

Wayne married Tracy in 1998, in Lewisville, TX. They were happily married for 22 years. Wayne was a member of The Fraternal Order of Freemasonry. He immensely enjoyed spending time with his family, vacationing, tinkering in his garage on various projects, and sipping on unsweet iced tea. He was state certified in Civil Process and earned his Master Peace Officers License, License to Carry Instructor Certification, Range Master Instructor Certification, Courtroom Security Specialist Certification, and his Armorers Certification.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Edna Rhodes.

Wayne is survived by his spouse, Tracy Rhodes, of Flower Mound, TX, and his children: Joshua Rhodes, Rachel Kelley, Sarah Miller, Travis Rhodes, Brandon Rhodes, Mhyka Garrett; and his 16 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held First Denton Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St. Denton, TX 76201 at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 8, 2020. A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd. Kennedale, TX 76060 on Monday, December 7, 2020, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A private burial will be held.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the dedicated doctors and ICU nurses of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Flower Mound, Denton County Constable - PCT 2, Flower Mound and Richland Hills Police Departments, Lewisville Police Department, Denton Police Department, and the countless others who have contributed and lifted Wayne and his family up in prayer.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. (Revelation 21:4)
